Dragonkind Game Guide
Dragonkind is the official Threshing Day game. You play it free at dragonkind.com in your phone or computer browser. You walk into the Vale, make choices, and a dragon either bonds with you or burns you.
We wrote this from public videos of real players. We went through them frame by frame, so every step below is something we actually saw on screen.
How a run works
- Sign in with your email. The game sends a six-digit code. Type it on the "Prove it" screen. New players tap "New candidate?".
- Get your assignment. You're placed in a wing, a section and a squad. In the runs we watched, one player got Third Wing, Tail Section, First Squad. Another got Third Wing, Claw Section, First Squad.
- Tap "Brave Threshing". The game warns you there are only two ways out: bond a dragon, or die.
- Make your choices. Each screen gives you two or three options. A full run can have around 15 of them.
- See your result. If you bond, you get a card with your dragon's name, tail type, sex, age, color and lineage. If you're burned, you have to wait before you can go again.
What the first choices look like
Both runs we watched started the same way.
- Who goes in with you: alone, with one squadmate, or with two.
- Which way you go: you face the Vale from the north. There's a roar to the east and the smell of sulfur to the west. You can also head for the middle of the forest.
After that the story splits. You might meet dragons that aren't yours, other cadets, or a fight. See the full player paths for every step.
What we learned from real runs
| What happened | What it means for you |
|---|---|
| One player met a green dragon and a red dragon before the orange one picked them. | Not every dragon you meet is yours. Staying alive is enough to keep going. |
| A red dragon burned one player. In another run, a red let the player walk away. | Reds are risky. If a red isn't warming to you, getting out alive is a win. |
| The player who bonded helped a squadmate in a fight and survived. | Helping your squad didn't get anyone killed in the runs we saw. |
| At the end, the bonded player roared back at the orange dragon, then climbed on. | When a dragon tests you, a bold answer worked better than running. |
Take this as a pattern from two runs, not a rule. The game itself says dragons follow no law but their own. The same choices may not give you the same dragon.
If the site says "Stand by"
On launch day the game kept showing "Stand by. Something failed on our end." That's the server, not you, and the game says nothing is lost. Wait a minute and refresh.
If a dragon burns you
You can't try again right away. The game tells you to come back in a few hours. The player we watched saw a 4:00 countdown and said "4 hours". Read more, and start a timer, on our retry timer page.
